Buzz Hair
Buzz Hair was an active ASCE member. While traveling to make a presentation at the 2000 conference, he was in a fatal automobile crash. Each year since then, a distinguished presenter for the "Buzz Hair" lecture is selected by the Geotechnical Group in New Orleans.
Herbert J. Roussell, Jr.
Herbert J. Roussel, Jr. was one of the founding members of The ASCE Structural Committee of New Orleans Branch and served on its Executive Committee from 1991 to 2005.Since 2006 each year a distinguished presenter is selected by the Structural Engineering Institute Chapter of New Orleans (SEI NO) to deliver the
"Herbert J. Roussell, Jr." Lecture.
IN MEMORIAM
Darrell Elliott
Darrell Elliot was an active LCECS Committee Member at the time of his death. Darrell was also a past president of the ACI-Louisiana Chapter, one of the hosting organizations of the LCECS. Often being referred to as "Dr. Concrete," Darrell was internationally recognized for his knowledge in Concrete issues. Many material presentations for the LCECS were the result of the speaker having a professional relationship with Darrell, which is why it is only fitting to have the marquee presentation in the Materials section named after him.
